Shawn Fisher is a prisoner serving a life sentence for second degree murder at MCI Shirley in Massachusetts. He is the Director of CURE-ARM Inc. (see www.facebook.com/pages/Cure-Arm,Inc./) and on the steering committee of Bread and Water Prisoners Inc. He has authored several articles, “Forced to Die Alone”, “Hospice”, “There’s the Rub”, and many others on prison and reform. He has written a position paper on “Commutation in Massachusetts” and had an article “Mass Incarceration: The Further Compromise of Public Safety”, featured in the Journal of Prisoners on Prisons special issue featuring papers presented at the Fifteenth International Conference on Penal Abolition on Algonquin Territory / in Ottawa, Canada.
