Cathy Marston Ph.D. is an internationally published and presented feminist scholar, as well as an activist/agitator on disability rights and repetitive strain injuries. She is a former journalist and is currently imprisoned in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, per the unlawful arrests alluded to in her poem “Justice is a Woman”. This piece attempts to set this experience of sheer misogyny within a larger cultural framework via an inherent feminist critique of the patriarchal (in)justice system in the United States and in Texas in particular.
