Prison Art and Writing Working Group - Disaster Prisons Partnership
Formed in 2025, the DPP | Disaster Prisons Partnership brings together researchers, criminalized people, their loved ones, community advocates, practitioners, and artists to engage in research and knowledge mobilization that makes visible the challenges faced by imprisoned people to adapt, survive, and exit prisons in the face of disasters to inform public policy and practice in Canada. The DPP features four working groups, including: Prison Art and Writing (PAW); Disaster Prisons Observatory (DPO); Prison Oversight, Accountability and Support (POAS); and Diversion, Decarceration and Community Re-entry (DDCR).
