Charles Norman has been in Florida prisons for more than 30 years. His poems, short stories, essays and memoirs have received numerous national writing awards ever since he won awards from Mensa and PEN in 1986. In 2009, he won the Outstanding Achievement Award, given infrequently by the PWP. Fighting the Ninja took first place in the memoir category in 2008. He continues his fight for freedom in a high-tech world that has changed greatly, writing a blog (see http://charlienorman.blogspot.com), embracing Facebook, and sending emails and communiques from prison.
