James Ruston is serving a life sentence for an offence he committed when he was a minor and is now a member of the Toronto Prisoners’ Rights Project. He was recently reincarcerated, initially in a provincial detention centre awaiting a parole revocation hearing and now at a federal penitentiary following a parole revocation for a technical breach of his parole conditions related to substance use.
