    Aporia is dedicated to scholarly debates in nursing and the health sciences. The journal is committed to a pluralistic view of science and to the blurring of boundaries between disciplines. Based on the tradition of the penal press and published by the University of Ottawa Press, the JPP combines prison writing with academic arguments to enlighten public discourse about the current state of carceral institutions, as well as inform the development of reforms to penal policies and practices that promote accountability and human rights.
