Médecines moderne et traditionnelle en santé mentale : ennemies jurées ou pratiques complémentaires?

Un nombre croissant de patients fait appel à la médecine alternative ou complémentaire dans le traitement des troubles de santé mentale et plusieurs études en documentent les bénéfices, surtout lorsque celle-ci est jumelée à la médecine conventionnelle. La communauté médicale se doit ainsi d’évaluer son rôle et sa responsabilité face à cette nouvelle réalité. Ce commentaire propose d’examiner les origines de certaines de ces méthodes et initie un dialogue essentiel pour assurer la sécurité et le bon accompagnement des patients.
