Ensuring a Blind Reivew

Ensuring a Blind Review

To ensure the integrity of the blind peer review process for submission to this journal, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. This involves the authors, editors, and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) checking to see if the following steps have been taken with regard to the manuscript and associated files:

  1. The names and affiliations of the authors are removed from the manuscript and associated files (i.e., figures, tables, appendices, supplementary files, etc.).
  2. Any self-referencing phrases (i.e., where the authors cite their own works) should be replaced with "Author" and year or [blinded].
  3. Acknowledgements that identify the authors or their affiliations are omitted.
  4. Identifying information in the document properties and all other metadata referring to the authors are removed from the files.
  5. File names do not include the names of the authors or other identifying information.
