While many specialized software can now electronically reproduce the interface of traditional language labs, these are often priced prohibitively. An alternative exists in Language Lab, a free application that can be added to a Moodle learning platform to access language lab functions. Indeed, the application Language Lab allows teachers to assign audio or audio-visual exercises to groups of students, manage and record their responses, and interact live or asynchronously with participants, amongst other functions. To illustrate these functions, this article describes an accent-reduction course taught entirely through Language Lab in a Moodle environment. The course includes theoretical modules, perception exercises, articulation exercises, an articulation imitation module, external links, films, and video/audio conference sessions. This course has been tested several times in distance, on-site and hybrid modes of delivery.
