Approche systématique des parcours migratoires : pour une meilleure prise en compte de la pluralité

Abstract

This research contribution is situated in areas concerning the "sociolinguistics of migrations" and languages in contact. It attempts to take into account the dynamics of individual plurilingualism in relation to contemporary mobility (geographical, professional, virtual, etc.), showing how language practices and mobility interact. Drawing upon an ethnosociological perspective, we conducted forty-one biographic interviews, using a qualitative approach. One of the main objectives of this research is to recognize and shed light on individual language resources as a way to value multilingual and multicultural skills, as well as mobility. Our work on mobility and migration is grounded in a systemic and transdisciplinary approach, with an interest in the concepts of migratory movement and reversible routes. We emphasize the importance of taking into account the pre-migration cultures but also elucidating the concepts of knowledge move and know-migrate. After describing our methodological choices, we will discuss a few samples from our corpus on the relationship between linguistic practices and “virtual” mobility.
